    Abstract： Pig is likely to be blocked in pipeline during pigging operation because of many unforeseeable causes. Described is pig operation rule in pipeline, analyzed comprehensively are pig blocking causes during steel pipeline pigging operation and summarized are some measures for blockingreleasing. Taking pigging operation in Tarim Oilfield for example, introduced is the blockingreleasing process. Based on practical experience in many years, several blockingreleasing methods are put forward for pigging operators.
