    Protective Measures for Construction Machineries of Oil and Gas Pipelines in Mu Us Desert

    Abstract：Protective measures for oil and gas pipelines passing through Mu Us Desert are very important. The geomorphic units of the desert where oil and gas pipelines are installed are stationary dunes，half stationary dunes and mobile sand dunes. According to actual conditions in Mu Us Desert，detailed are measures for protecting construction machineries used in pipeline installation in this area，including sand barrier type，sand barrier height and construction method，spacing of sand barriers，which have been applied in pipeline installation construction in Mu Us Desert and may be applied in pipeline installation construction in future similar projects.
