Abstract:Shutdown of heat oil pipeline is inevitable in its operation process and lack of heat preservation of exposed pipeline is often main cause of its shutdown. Shutdown simulation has been conducted by using CFD software on thermal properties of exposed pipeline. In order to simulate its shutdown process more realistically, calculated firstly was the temperature field in the pipeline before shutdown, simulation was conducted in invariant and variant environment temperature conditions respectively and simulation results show that shutdown period is 8 days if environment temperature change is not considered and shutdown period is longer if environment temperature change is considered and the temperature field in the pipeline is higher than no environment temperature change, which can provide guidance for actual intermittent pipeline transportation.
