    Application of ERW Steel Pipes in Gas Field Gathering and Transportation Trunk Lines

    Abstract:Welding lines of ERW pipes have such disadvantages as carbon segregation,slag inclusion and instable fabrication quality,which often results in rejection of users from some gas fields. Systematically introduced are types and characteristics of pipeline steel pipes used for oil and gas transmission pipelines and fabrication principles of ERW steel pipes,analyzed are causes of carbon segregation,slag inclusion and instable fabrication quality in welding lines of domestic ERW pipes and put forward are some corresponding improvement measures. Described is application of ERW pipes in natural gas pipeline projects at home and abroad,introduced are selection course and application effects of ERW pipes in certain gathering and transportation project in Sichuan Province and it is pointed out that application of ERW pipes in wet gas pipeline fabrication has such advantages as lower investment and shorter construction period.
