    Setup of Fire Arresting Device in Flare System of Gas Treatment Plant

    Abstract:In order to prevent fire and explosion resulting from possible fire comeback in flare venting,it is necessary to research the setup of fire arresting device in flare system. Analyzed are working conditions leading to possible fire comeback in flare venting and measures taken for preventing fire comeback and explosion,researched are design and operation conditions of different fire arresting devices in flare systems of several gas treatment plants and oil refineries designed by China Petroleum Engineering Co.,Ltd. Southwest Company(CPE?鄄SW)and contrastively analyzed are relative provisions in Chinese national standards and international standards on setup of fire arresting device in flare system. Analyzed are several examples of fire arresting device failures at home and abroad. Described is the importance of fire arresting device setup in gas treatment plant and it is pointed that fire arresting device with purge gas shall be selected for flare tip and more attention shall be paid to fire arresting device setup in flare system.
