Abstract:Media of natural gas treatment plants, liquefied natural gas(LNG)facilities and nitrogen?鄄injection units generally contain different levels of mercury which will seriously damage process equipment, even endanger operators’ health and safety and result in serious environmental pollution. In order to minimize corrosion of mercury on equipment,it is necessary to know and understand more its corrosion mechanism. Removal of mercury from media is an effective way to reduce corrosion and operation risk of gas treatment equipment. Such developed mercury removal technologies as regenerable molecular sieve and non?鄄regenerable fixed?鄄bed adsorbent can be adopted to effectively remove mercury from feed gas, greatly reduce operation costs, prolong service life of equipment, significantly relieve corrosion of mercury on cryogenic equipment in gas processing facilities and reduce its pollution on the environment.
