    Numerical Study on Crude Oil Dehydration Technology

    Abstract:In order to solve such problems as high moisture content and difficult crude oil purification in late oilfield development,it is necessary to study water?鄄bearing crude oil. Adopted are such methods as density difference and settlement separation to dehydrate such crude oil. At present,crude oil dehydration methods mainly include gravity process,centrifugal process,chemical demulsification method,electrical demulsification method and wetting coalescence method. Gravity separator and centrifugal separator are widely applied in oilfield development. CFD method is used to conduct numerical simulation on water and oil separation in corrugated pipe and spiral pipe and water and oil separation rules are obtained from such simulation:obvious water and oil separation phenomenon appears in the 10th wave trough in the corrugated pipe,the highest oil content appears in wave peak and the highest water content appears in wave trough and water and oil separation phenomenon appears in the outside and slightly low section in the spiral pipe.
