    Discussion on Long-distance Gas Pipeline Design in New Situation

    Abstract： Design project management of long-distance oil and gas pipelines is a complex system management， pipeline construction in recent years presents such new situation as taking the design as the principal thing， routing coordination throughout construction period， complex external relations and big differences between local requirements， which makes the requirements for pipeline construction more strict and its execution more difficult than before. Current gas pipeline construction in China has such characteristics as numerous projects under construction， wide regional distribution and short time limit for a project， its design schedule and quality and application of standardization achievements are critical to successful completion of a project. Taking feasibility study， preliminary design， engineering， procurement and construction and project management contracting of Zhongwei-Guiyang Gas Pipeline Project for example， comparatively analyzed are differences between traditional designs and new designs under new situation and discussed are some specific practices for completing design with high quality and efficiency.
