Abstract: Adopted usually is the conventional logging analysis program to assess the gas reservoir, especially to assess the gas reservoir of casing well, that is, utilized are resistivity and porosity to establish a parallel model according to resistivity of skeleton, pore fluid and mud mass, calculated is the water saturation of the strata by using various calculation formulas so as to determine fluid properties of the strata and assess the gas reservoir. However, such logging analysis program is unable to utilize the existing information to obtain a correct conclusion. Adopted is the compression coefficient model to study such logging data as mineral compositions, pore fluids with different compressibility and sound waves and developed is an analysis program (CFI) for gas reservoir logging. Application results of the program show that it is able to utilize the existing conventional information to identify gases in gas reservoir exactly and good effects have been obtained by its application in Dagang Oilfield.
