    Optimization of BOG Treatment Process in LNG Terminal

    Abstract: 

     BOG treatment technique of LNG terminal includes recondensation and compression processes and the two kinds of treatment processes have some shortages respectively. For recondensation process gas had to be vented or flamed if no gas is exported from LNG terminal and for compression process LNG cold energy can not be recovered during LNG terminal export. For this reason applied are static and dynamic calculation models to calculate maximum BOG generation volume with and without LNG terminal export respectively and make clear BOG generation volume in various working conditions. Based on BOG generation mechanism analyzed are measures taken for decreasing BOG generation volume of LNG terminal and the results show that optimization of BOG compressor combination can effectively recover BOG. It is suggested that in design and construction of LNG terminal recondensation and direct compression processes shall be comprehensively utilized and effective measures shall be taken to decrease BOG generation volume and realize effective BOG recovery and utilization.
