    Abstract:

To optimize method for measuring the minimum miscibility pressure of CO and crude oil comparative analysis is conducted on two experiment methods. Applied are interfacial tension method and slender tube method in simulated conditions of formation temperature108and formation pressure from 24 to 40 MPa to measure the minimum miscibility pressure of CO2 and crude oil. It is found that the interfacial tension drops almost linearly as pressure increases. The minimum miscibility pressure measured by pendant-drop method is 38.094 MPa and 39.2 MPa measured by slender tube method. The two pressure values are compared with the minimum miscibility pressure 38.715MPa obtained by linear regression extrapolation and their relative error is 1.60 % and 1.25 % respectively and the comparison results show that the slender tube method is more accurate.
