    Application of Nonmetallic Pipes in Oilfields

    Abstract： In order to solve such problems as frequent corrosion perforation and serious scaling in medium and high water cut period and reduce secondary pollution on metal pipeline resulting from oilfield water injection， it is necessary to conduct field test on pipes made of different materials. In certain oilfield， steel pipe was successively replaced with glass steel pipe， steel skeleton clad pipe and flexible clad pipe since 2000 for oil and gas gathering and transportation and water injection and such advantages were used fully as strong corrosion resistance and good hydraulic performance of nonmetallic pipes. Practical field application shows that although selection of nonmetallic pipes in oil and gas gathering and transportation and water injection systems needs high one-time investment， but scaling can be prevented， corrosion can be controlled and secondary pollution can be reduced efficiently， construction period can be shortened greatly and maintenance costs can be decreased， which can bring obvious economic and social benefits. Considered comprehensively， nonmetallic pipes used in oilfield medium and high water cut period are better than metal pipes and have significant popularization and application values.
