Abstract:Waste water drained from natural gas treatment plant contains toxic and hazardous substances, such as chemicals and condensate oil. Conventional open waste water drainage system applied in gas treatment plant design is based on municipal engineering norms and usual practices, in which adopted is the waste water treatment and drainage way of “effluent-drainage inspection wells plus drainage pipes-waste water treatment unit”. Such system can cause serious safety and occupational health risks due to evaporation of toxic and hazardous substances in waste water. With more and more strictness of safety and environmental protection and occupational health requirements, conventional waste water drainage practices can not meet demands in gas field development. Application of closed waste water drainage system in natural gas treatment plant design is imperative in order to reduce safety and environmental protection and occupational health risks. Analyzed are design processes of waste water drainage system in natural gas treatment plants at home and abroad and put forward are more reasonable options for such drainage system design.
