Abstract: In order to meet requirements for gas pipeline transportation and environmental protection, it is necessary to purify raw natural gas with acidic components (H2S and/or CO2 with a small number of mercaptan and/or thioether on some occasions). H2S has strong corrosivity on pipeline, equipment and other facilities as well as environment, excessive CO2 may reduce heat value of natural gas and decrease overall economic benefits. Therefore, widely attention has been paid to desulphurization and decarburization technology. Introduced is the wet desulphurization technology mainly applied in natural gas treatment, described are principles, technological processes, advantages and disadvantages and application situations of physical absorption method, chemical absorption method, combined absorption method and oxidation absorption method and proposed are several new technologies which have good development prospect, such as heteropoly acid method. Comparative analysis results show that amine method process is relative mature and highly effective, especially, MDEA and its associated formulas are widely applied. Various new technologies are more and more perfect and gas desulfurization technology is developed towards the direction of diversification.
