    Selection of Upper Module Heating System in Floating LNG Plant

    Abstract: Floating LNG plant is a new offshore plant which exploits and processes natural gas from deep sea. Due to space limitation of its upper process module, it shall be compactly arranged and it is especially important to select the heating system. Conducted is adaptability analysis on heat transfer fluid (HTF) system and steam system in such offshore plant and selected is the heat transfer fluid (HTF) system with low investment, high thermal efficiency, simple operation and low space occupancy rate. Taking the selection of the heat transfer fluid (HTF) system of 240×104 t/a LNG plant in Liwan Gas Field of the south China sea for an example, it is demonstrated that the selection of the heat transfer fluid (HTF) system is optimum.
