    Study on Roof Fabrication Technology for Single LNG Duplex Metal Wall Tank

    Abstract： In welding operation of single LNG duplex metal wall tank roof， pressure resistance rings are welded before outer tank shell is welded， which results in narrow and small welding operation space of pressure resistance rings and compression rings and limited welding space of travelling crane path of outer tank. After calculation and demonstration， introduced is the construction technology of enlarging wall plate space， that is， firstly， a circle of outer tank wall plate is welded for enlarging the welding operation space， and then， conducted is repair welding on pressure resistance rings after the travelling crane path is welded for completing roof fabrication process. The construction technology can not only reduce labor intensity of welding operation in narrow and small space， but also guarantee the construction progress and quality. Successful roof fabrication of two 3×104 m3 LNG tanks by adopting the construction technology has test and verified the validity and dependability of the technology， which is meaningful for LNG tank being built safely and effectively in the future.
