Abstract: With continuous natural gas development, reservoir pressure drops gradually and serious reservoir stress sensitivity occurs consequently. In order to study the effect of stress sensitivity on gas reservoir development,it is necessary to conduct laboratory experiment. The core stress sensitivity can be evaluated through reducing the internal pressure and changing the confining pressure. In internal pressure reduction experiment, the initial core permeability can be decreased by 30 %-70 % through internal pressure reduction and the permeability value can be only restored by about 50 %-80 % of the initial value through re-increasing the internal pressure. In the confining pressure change experiment, the core initial permeability can be decreased by 40 %-80 % through confining pressure increase and the permeability value can be only restored by about 50 %-80 % of the initial value through re-decreasing the confining pressure. The open flow capacity and dynamic reserves obtained from the new productivity equation and material balance equation considering stress sensitivity are largely different from those obtained from common ones. The results show that the larger the core permeability is,the stronger the stress sensitivity is. The new productivity equation considering stress sensitivity and dynamic reserves calculation method have a certain practical value for double media gas reservoir development.
