Establishment of Distributed Surveying and Mapping Database for Gas Pipelines Based on Arcgis

Abstract：With rapid development of gas pipeline construction in China，relative surveying and mapping data quantity have been increased rapidly and geographic information systems and computer database management technologies are also becoming mature gradually. How to apply such advanced technologies in relative management has become one of the most pressing issues at present. Analyzed are structures of available surveying and mapping data relative to pipeline systems and proposed is the idea that ArcSDE，the spatial database engine，is used to manage such surveying and mapping data. Described are structural design，data organization and data storage method of distributed surveying and mapping database system and put forward is a method for establishing and managing such database. Distributed surveying and mapping database can be established for gas pipeline according to this method，system function modules can be optimized in combination of specific operation and a more scientific pipeline digital business platform can be established accordingly.
