    Abstract:

Grass grid is a kind of wind prevention, sand fixation and water conservation methods and has such advantages as convenient material-adoption, simple construction, beneficial to ecological and environmental protection. In 1958,this sand fixation technology was firstly created in Zhongwei Shapotou District of northwest China and has become one of effective measures for desertification control from then on and is widely applied to sand fixation and water conservation in desert area oil and gas pipeline and highway engineering design. Through decades of development, the grass grid sand-fixation method has become a very mature sand-fixation technology. Conducted is contrastive analysis on advantages and disadvantages of the technology widely adopted in China's desert area oil and natural gas pipeline engineering design and sand-fixation technologies adopted in Turkmenistan and introduced is application prospect of such sand-fixation technology in future similar overseas engineering design.
