    Abstract:

One of main challenges in deepwater high pressure gas filed development is safety protection for deepwater low pressure production facilities and tie-in platform facilities under overpressure working conditions caused by high shut-in pressure. As a kind of high integrity pressure protection system, HIPPS has such characteristics as rapid response, high security and low investment and has been gradually used in domestic deepwater high pressure gas filed development. Analyzed are basic configuration and function requirements of HIPPS and its advantages and disadvantages in the case of underwater installation and platform installation and applied is HYSYS process software to dynamically simulate internal pressure rise process of Panyu 35-1 slug catcher equipped with HIPPS under overpressure working conditions in south China sea deepwater gas field group project. Research results show that for deepwater high pressure gas field, rational application of HIPPS can effectively improve the safety of production and reduce overall investment.
