    Abstract:

In Turkmenistan South Yolotan Gas Field surface development project, multiple pipelines were laid in the same pipeline corridor of gas gathering pipelines. During engineering design, repeated discussions and consultations were conducted between the Chinese design party and the Owner of Turkmenistan on different spacings between multiple pipelines laid separately specified in different standard systems from China and Turkmenistan. It was finally determined that the standard system of the former Soviet Union should be followed m pipeline spacing design. Determination of pipeline spacings reflects two kinds of different safety design guidelines actually, which can provide valuable reference for future gas pipeline engineering design projects in the central Asia area undertaken by Chinese design companies.
