    Analysis on Chang-Hu Crude Oil Pipeline Operating in Low Flow

    Abstract:

    Low transportation temperature will result in oil temperature lower than wax precipitation point, pipeline wall wax precipitation thickness increase, effective operation pipeline diameter decrease and pipeline friction increase. At the same time, efficiency of pump and heating furnace will he decreased and energy consumption will be increased,which will be adverse to equipment maintenance. Conducted is analysis on oil temperature, ground temperature, temperature drop, condensation points and pressure loss along Chang-Hu high waxy crude oil pipeline and identified are two pipeline segments with the most serious wax precipitation. Adjusted is the startup mode of the heating furnace to save energy and reduce consumption, physical properties of oils transported to the terminal meet relative operating requirements, which can provide data support when safe and energy-saving operation plan is prepared for low flow operation.
