    Centerline Coordinate Correction Method for Oil and Gas Pipelines Based on In-line Inspection

    Abstract:

    Introduced are in-line inspection technologies used for oil and gas pipelines and current acquisition methods of pipeline centerline coordinates and analyzed is the necessity of amending pipeline data so as to obtain accurate pipeline centerline coordinates. Taken in-line inspection centerline coordinate correction of oil and gas pipelines of Guangdong Dapeng LNG Co., Ltd. for an example, described are such four steps of in-line inspection centerline coordinates as correction reference point selection, reference point measurement, correction of in-line inspection coordinates and verification of pipeline centerline coordinates and drawn is the conclusion that accurate centerline coordinates with error of less than ± 1m can be obtained by application of the coordinate correction method. Accurate pipeline centerline coordinates have significant economic value and social significance for safe operation of oil and gas pipelines. The correction method for centerline coordinates of oil and gas pipelines based on in-line inspection can be used widely in oil and gas industry and provide technical support for correction of pipeline centerline coordinates.
