    Analysis on Oil Field Water Gathering Radius Based on Beggs & Brill Model

    Abstract:Actual situation of multiphase flow pipeline with dip angle is so complicated that gathering radius cannot be obtained through experience. For this purpose, it is necessary to establish a complete set of calculation model of the radius. Oil gathering radius is calculated according to the division of flow regime, including mainly the follows: selection of pressure drop formula, determination of flow regime, calculation of friction coefficient and selection of cross section liquid holdup. Common Beggs & Brill pressure drop formula has no direct flow pattern calculation method, so applied are the improved Barnea flow pattern formula and modified Beggs & Brill liquid holdup calculation formula. Taking an oilfield gathering pipeline network for example, the gathering radius of the pipeline with dip angle calculated through the model is basically consistent with actual one obtained in restrained conditions.
