    The Key Technology of Water Control for Offshore Gas Field

    Abstract:X is a high-yielding large offshore gas field in China. By almost 20 years' development, the gas field has been water invaded. Affected by high temperature, low pressure coefficient and high repair cost, it is a challenge to control water for the gas field at later stage. Comprehensive measures for water control have been selected among numerous measures such as side-track on the top reservoir, water plugging, changing tubing, re-perforating and depressurization development and remarkable effects have been obtained. Four key technologies for gas well water control were summarized during the process, which can distinguish the water breakthrough source, obtain best water plugging layer, forecast the re-perforating effect accurately and enhance fluid-carrying capability with ground technology. This technology provides references for development of similar gas field.
