    Abstract：With the passage of time and the development of oil and gas in China, the safe operation of long-distance pipelines as well as the ability to adapt to long-distance pipeline are constantly changing, so the numbers of oil (gas) pipeline for renovation are increasing year by year. Oil (gas) pipe renovation will be gradually put on the agenda to become one of the priorities at present. To this end, preliminary study for oil (gas) pipe renovation provides a relatively reliable basis for decision-making authorities. Based on the characteristics of long distance oil (gas) pipe renovation projects, suggestions have been made for the contents and depth of feasibility report of renovation projects as the reference for preliminary study.
