Abstract:Pores in the reservoir are the main channel for oil and gas storage and transportation. It is the most basic and fundamental aspect to study the pore' s structures in oil & gas filed exploitation. With the application of quartet structure generation set (QSGS) method, 21 pore models with different porosity but identical directional generation possibility, and various pore models with the same porosity and advantageous growth direction are built in this paper. The fractal dimension (box-counting dimension) and multifractal spectrum of each model are calculated,  and the comparison and analysis of the correlation between pore structure and fractal dimension are conducted. The result shows that pore structure has good fractal property, the porosity and box dimension have a high linear correlation in double logarithmic axis. The characteristic parameter of multifractal spectrum Δα is relatively independent of porosity, which reflects the heterogeneity of pore structure. The greater value indicates stronger heterogeneity of pore structure.
