    Research on Synthesis of lmidazoline Corrosion Inhibitor and Inhibition Performance

    Abstract:In order to solve the serious corrosion to pipeline equipment caused by oilfield sewage, injection of corrosion inhibitor into oilfield sewage treatment process is a kind of economical and practical method of anti-corrosion. lmidazoline corrosion inhibitor was synthesized using tung oil and rosin reacted with dimethylbenzene through two-step dewatering. The main influencing factors in the process of the synthesis were discussed and better synthesis process was got as follows: the molar ration of mixture of tung oil and rosin with dimethylbenzene was 1: 1.3, refluxing temperature was about 140°C for 8h, which gradually increased to 220°C . The dosage of water carrying agent was 25(wt) % of the total reaction mass, the molar ration of chloroacetic acid with imidazoline was 1: 1. The yield of the product was more than 90% under the optimized conditions. The corrosion inhibition performance of the synthesized imidazoline on A3 steel in 5% NaCl solutions were measured using weight loss method. Results showed that the synthesized imidazoline was a good corrosion inhibitor for A3 steel in experimental solutions. The inhibition efficiency of synthesized imidazoline on A3 steel in 5% NaCl solution at 45 °C was more than 90% when the concentration of inhibitor was 150× 10-6.
