Exploration and Practice of EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) in Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry

Abstract：Petroleum and petrochemical industry consumes large amounts of energy while producing large amounts of energy. Under the background of energy-saving and emission reduction and low oil prices in China, it's imperative for petroleum and petrochemical industry to carry out energy conservation and emission reduction. A mode based on market mechanism called EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) provides petroleum and petrochemical industry with a new idea of energy-saving, emission reduction and cost reduction. By analyzing EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) projects which have been implemented in petroleum and petrochemical industry, the existing issues in EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) of petroleum and petrochemical industry have been summarized with measures for improvement. With increasingly mature EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) market in China, constant progress have been made for EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) in petroleum and petrochemical industry through exploration and practice.
