    Abstract:

The first set of domestic LNG light hydrocarbon recovery unit has been built in Shandong LNG terminal, however it is found that transmission of LNG products was not carried out smoothly in the process of commissioning, and the send-out capacity could not meet the design requirements. If this problem cannot be solved, it may cause commissioning failure. By the contrastive analysis of design parameters and operation experiment, it is believed that the problem is caused by the export pressure difference between the high pressure pumps of process area and LNG product pump. In order to solve this problem, three kinds of solutions have been proposed. First, increase impeller series of light hydrocarbon pumps. Second, add a control valve on each high-pressure pump outlet pipeline in processing area. Third, reform the existing process header and separate the two kinds of pump outlet piping. By calculating and contrasting analysis, it is believed that adding two impeller is the most effective solution for short term. However, for long term consideration, at the time of phase II project, it is recommended that a globe valve can be added on each high pressure pump's outlet pipe which is controlled from DCS.
