    Abstract:

As to the installation of deepwater oil and gas development drilling conductor, a new alternative, i.e. conductor subsea driving technology, has been proposed and carried out in recent years and its feasibility has been proven in practice. Due to the lack of application of this technology in China, in order to evaluate the applicability of this technology in the deepwater block of South China Sea, based on the typical surface soil characteristics of South China Sea and drilling practice, the paper makes an analogy analysis of the soil characteristics of the oil fields that have been implemented abroad. Meanwhile, a conductor-soil-hammer model has been established using the wave equation analysis software to analyze and set the driving conditions and boundary under which the conductor drivability is performed to analyze the conductor stress, the influence and interaction of hammer efficiency, output energy and blow counts. The analysis shows that for the deepwater block in South China Sea, the typical deepwater drilling conductor can be safely driven into the typical designed penetration under the given driving conditions. The driving performance meets the operational requirements, which is conductive to the exploration of this technology. The analysis results can provide reference for thee application assessment of this technology in the South China Sea.
