    Abstract:

During the production phase of oil reservoir type gas storage, the natural gas carries over a small amount of black oil droplets to the downstream low-temperature treatment facilities, resulting in black oil solidification and precipitation, causing equipment and pipeline blockage and affecting the safe operation of the production facilities. After analysis and research, the research team set up a two-stage black oil filtering and removal process, namely cyclone separator plus filter separator, to filter off 99.9% of liquid droplets larger than 1μm in diameter from natural gas, thereby reducing the black oil carry-over into the downstream cryogenic processing facilities, and improve the safe operation and reliability of gas supply from the peak-shaving gas storage in winter. As the well known first oil reservoir type gas storage in China, the successful application of the two-stage black oil filtering and removal technology provides experience and valuable reference for the subsequent development of gas storage of the same nature. At the same time, according to the filtration mechanism of black oil, a new integrated ultra-fine black oil droplet separator was developed. This separator will effectively improve the black oil droplet removal efficiency of gas re-produced from reservoir type gas storage. It is suggested that the separator be installed downstream of the air cooler of the gas production facilities. The development of integrated ultra-fine black oil droplet separator as presented in this paper can provide guidance for the future process design and engineering of the same type of gas storage.
