    Abstract:

In recent years, with the rapid development of new technologies and the deepening of digital transformation, the oil and gas industry has made a series of advances in process control, data link development, asset information management, etc., but it is still in the digitization development phase. Faced with the impact of repeated COVID-19 pandemic, rising labor costs, declining profits and other factors, international oil companies have taken measures to promote digital transformation to improve efficiency. In the same period, carbon peak and carbon neutrality will be written into the government work report for the first time at the Chinese national Two Sessions(National People's Representative Meeting and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference) in 2021, which will surely bring about a more profound social and economic transformation and a new energy revolution. By analyzing the current practice of digital development in China and combining with the essence of the digital transformation of international oil companies, this paper explores the path suitable for the digital transformation of China's oil and gas industry. It is concluded that the future digital transformation and upgrading should focus on corporate strategy and on the core of the value chain, increase research and development efforts, constantly explore and innovate, and promote the maximization of benefits.
