    Abstract:

It is beneficial to quantify the safety factor of oil products inventory by developing a model to calculate inventory safety coefficient. In practice, the vertical and horizontal results of inventory safety coefficient comparison can be used in describing the relative degree of safety of a depot. The vertical relative degree of safety can be obtained by comparing the inventory safety coefficient values with historical data of the depot; the horizontal comparison value can be obtained by comparing the inventory safety coefficient values with those of other depots. In modeling, 9 factors affecting the safety coefficient are identified from 3 sectors, namely supply, sales and storage. On the basis of considering the advantages and disadvantages of AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and CRITIC (CRiteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation) methods, the AHP-CRITIC hybrid method is used to determine the weight of each influencing factor. In model application, the method of determining the relative degree of safety of the oil products inventory level of the depot is explained. Through the application of the model, managers can grasp the relative degree of safety of each oil products inventory in a real-time and accurate manner, so as to make timely and rational management decisions.
