    Abstract:

Compared with the compressor stations of the same scale in China, the gas pipeline compressor stations in Central Asia possess a larger plot area, a greater piping volume and a higher natural gas venting capacity. In order to minimize the influence of combustible gas dispersion, the vent system should be optimized in terms of segregation of blowdown zones, blowdown process optimization and quantitative operation procedure. Utilizing advanced software, we can accurately improve several crucial blowdown parameters. Additionally, the selection of the blowdown valve type can be optimized, and the concept of time-sequenced blowdown can be introduced. By arranging the blowdown time sequencing of each blowdown zone via quantitative assessment, we can effectively reduce the maximum instantaneous venting rate, shorten the blowdown duration, and minimize the gas dispersion extent, which could provide reference for the process design of compressor station vent system in similar projects.
