    Abstract:

The quality of aviation fuel is crucial to the safety of aircraft, so the quality of aviation fuel must be strictly controlled. The construction and commissioning of new pipelines can lead to the introduction of impurities into the pipeline, resulting in substandard quality of the aviation fuel. This poses significant challenges for the initial operation of the aviation fuel pipeline. Advance planning and preparation should be carried out to ensure quality control during construction, pressure testing, cleaning, and commissioning stages. Pipe caps should be put on for pipe stacking and transportation, and welding slag should be cleaned in a timely manner after completing each welding joint. During the pressure testing process, water used should comply with the quality specifications, and the suitably oversized sealing cleaning pig selected to ensure the effective cleaning of the pipeline inner surface. Different combinations of cup pig sizes should be fully considered to ensure that impurities and rust can completely fall off and be taken out of the pipeline. Strict process management and acceptance standards should be implemented. During initial introduction of the aviation fuel, double water columns should be used to rinse the pipeline again in front of the oil, while oil and water should be isolated to prevent contamination of the aviation fuel in order to ensure the success of the operation of the pipeline in the first attempt. Taking the practical experience of Tianjin-Beijing Second Oil Pipeline as a case study, this paper analyzes the cleanliness control measures of aviation fuel pipeline and ensures the quality of aviation fuel in the first commissioning attempt. This experience and approach provides guidance and reference for the construction and commissioning of other aviation fuel pipelines.
