    Abstract:

The development of airport oil depot project is a complex task that involves multiple disciplines, stringent process engineering requirements, and long life cycle. The adoption of advanced management technology plays an important role in assuring project quality, saving costs, accelerating project schedule, and ensuring safety. BIM(Building Information Modeling) technology, in comparison to traditional CAD(Computer Aided Design) methods, offers the benefits of visualization, collaboration, and higher efficiency. It enables precise control over the project throughout its entire life cycle. The BIM technology can help identify in advance and solve the problems in project planning, site investigation, design and procurement by developing 3D models to perform piping clash checking, structural optimisation, cost calculation, construction activities simulation and other functions that enhance project management, targeting optimised control and focused monitoring of the priorities in construction and operation management of the project. The application of BIM technology to the full life cycle of airport oil depot project can ultimately improve development quality and the level of operational management. However, the current application of BIM in airport oil depot projects faces challenges such as a shortage of skilled professionals, a lack of standardization, and difficulties in integration. After resolving the above problems, the BIM technology can be better promoted for wider application to airport oil depot projects. The BIM technology will play an important role in the airport oil depot projects over their full life cycle.
