According to the year when the annual gas production output is above 10×109 m3, the giant gas fields in China are Kela2 (year 2007), Sulige (year 2010), Anyue (year 2015) and Kelasu (year 2020) gas fields. Sulige gas field maintains an annual output of 10×109 m3 for 10 years and has the highest annual output in China of 27.471×109 m3. According to the abundance of original reserves, the size of original reserves and reservoir properties, the four giant gas fields with an annual output of 10×109 m3 can be divided into two types. The first type is the Kela2 gas field which has high abundance of original reserves, high porosity, high permeability, relatively small size original reserves, and short plateau production years with a continuous annual output of 10×109 m3. The second type includes Kelasu, Sulige and Anyue gas fields, which are characterized by low abundance of original reserves, low porosity and permeability, but large original reserves size, and long duration with continuous annual output of more than 10×109 m3. In 2020, China had an annual gas production of 192.5 ×109 m3, and the four giant gas fields with an annual output of more than 10×109 m3 had total gas output of 58.994×109 m3, accounting for a significant 30.6% of the total national gas production, which is of great significance.
