    Analysis on Differences between Domestic and Foreign Standards for Pipeline Ground Markers

    Abstract:

    Pipeline markers are important facility to ensure pipeline safety. In China national standards for pipeline markers, requirements for locations and materials of pipeline markers are inconsistent from each other, and even conflicts exist in some standards. Proposed is the concept of referring to international standards to improve national standards, introduced are API RP 1109-2010 “Recommended Practice for Markers of Liquid Oil Pipeline Facilities" and such important advances of the recommended practice as pipeline marker defines, diversification of pipeline markers, setting principle of pipeline markers and considerations in determination of burial depth and spacing of pipeline markers and setting principle and design styles of air patrol marker and finally it is suggested that advanced concept of API RP 1109-2010 is used for reference to improve China national standards.
