Abstract:To analyze the results of digging force on pipelines, a FE model of pipes reinforced by cross helically wound wires under digging force was built by using Coupling Euler Lagrange (CEL) in ABAQUS. Mohr-Coulomb model was selected for the constitutive relation of soil. The direct and indirect effect of digging force on RTP pipeline was both considered in the analysis process. As a result of digging force, each layer of RTP pipeline failed by yielding and breaking when deformation and rupture occurred to the structure of RTP, which was also considered as strength failure of RTP. The analysis results provided basis for taking related protective measures.
